Jingxi Baikuang Manganese Ammonia Nitrogen Wastewater Emergency Treatment Project
Project Overview
Located in the manganese industrial park, Hurun Town, Jingxi, Baise, Guangxi, the project tackles ammonia nitrogen, total manganese, and calcium hardness exceedances in production wastewater, slag-pond leachate, and surrounding groundwater — caused by long-term slag stockpiling, electrolytic manganese discharge, and leachate seepage.
The raw water is highly complex: high ammonia nitrogen, excessive divalent manganese, high calcium/magnesium content, and high conductivity, making conventional processes ineffective. With a designed capacity of 1,000 m³/d, the project adopts pretreatment + three-stage membrane treatment to remove manganese and hardness. The qualified effluent is reused in the electrolytic manganese compounding process and concentrate is properly disposed of, achieving zero external discharge and eliminating water safety risks.

Process Overview The project combines pretreatment + nanofiltration (NF) + two-stage RO membrane technology, fully automated and continuous, suited to the highly polluted, fluctuating manganese wastewater. Process flow: raw water equalization tank → self-priming pump → cartridge filtration + chemical pretreatment → raw water tank → feed pump → high-pressure pump → 1st-stage NF system → intermediate tank → 2nd/3rd-stage RO system → qualified effluent → product water tank → on-site reuse. Pretreatment: a 50μm cartridge filter with precise chemical dosing intercepts large suspended solids and colloids, reducing membrane fouling load and protecting the high-pressure pumps and downstream membranes. 1st-stage NF: after 20μm filtration, water is pressurized into the NF membranes, achieving over 90% salt rejection while retaining most salts and heavy metals; permeate collects in the intermediate tank. 2nd & 3rd-stage RO: with 10μm precision filtration and high-pressure boosting, residual salts, trace manganese, and hardness are further removed, ensuring stable reuse-quality effluent. 辅助运维系统:配Auxiliary systems: dedicated membrane washing pumps and online chemical cleaning (CIP) periodically remove scaling, colloid adhesion, and fouling, preventing membrane clogging and performance decay. |
